Duties of the Treasurer
- Attend spring THOA, Inc. Board of Directors planning meeting.
- Attend summer Professional Development Conference and THOA, Inc. Board of Directors meeting immediately preceding the summer conference.
- Maintain financial records for THOA, Inc. on computer and send THOA operating account register reconciliation to president and TEA.
- Hire a reputable bookkeeper to oversee the conference account and an accountant to audit THOA, Inc.’s financial records for the fiscal year ending during his/her term of office.
- Organize and set up registration at Summer Professional Development conference.
- Assist THOA, Inc. bookkeeper with record keeping for summer Professional Development Conference.
- Be responsible for collecting THOA dues and for the disbursement of all dues to the appropriate agencies.
- Be responsible for payment of expenses occurred by THOA, Inc.
- Bring bank signature cards to summer PDC meeting for signatures of new officers.
- Send W-9 forms to all school districts requesting them.
- Purchase all supplies related to membership - membership cards, NCR membership applications and THOA ribbons.
- Maintain communication with president and assistant treasurer.
- Provide complete membership list to past president by May for determining membership awards.
- Provide complete membership list to Sue Alder Scholarship chairperson for selection of scholarship recipient.
- Compile a notebook of all duties performed and paperwork received during your term of office to be passed to the incoming reporter.

*Board members are required to attend all board meetings unless there are extenuating circumstances, which will be reviewed by the board. Board members should make arrangements for their duties to be carried forward. Notify the President if unable to attend a board meeting as soon as possible.*
