
Music Therapist - A music therapist provides treatment for medical, social and mental needs of clients or patients through music. Treatment may include improvisational music, song writing, discussion of lyrics, meditation, etc. Music therapists plan music activities that will cause a behavior change. This could involve dealing with pain, coping with an illness or upcoming operation, or habits and/or addictions. A music therapist must have a background in psychology and music. They should have a wide range of musical tastes and abilities. A bachelor’s degree is the minimum requirement to enter the field. Employment of music therapists will grow faster than the average for all occupations. |
